Description

Franse medaille commémorative de la guerre 1914-1918. De voorzijde heeft een afbeelding van moderne minerva, die in haar linkerhand een zwaard vasthoudt en de typische Franse Adrian helm op heeft. Op de achterzijde staat rondom REPUPLIQUE FRANCAISE met in het midden Grande Guerre 1914-1918. Een stuk van de bovenzijde van het lintje is los. De voorzijde is door de zon verkleurd omdat hij altijd achter een glasplaat in een lijstje heeft gehangen (samen met o.a. de Pautot-Mattei Victory medaille)

French Commemorative Medal of the War 1914-1918. The obverse features an image of a modern Minerva, holding a sword in her left hand and wearing the typical French Adrian helmet. The reverse bears the inscription REPUPLIQUE FRANCAISE around the perimeter, with Grande Guerre 1914-1918 in the center. A piece of the top edge of the ribbon is detached. The obverse is discolored by the sun because it has always hung in a frame behind a glass plate (along with, among others, the Pautot-Mattei Victory Medal)
